Between Sunday, April 7th, and Friday, April 12th, 2024, the third part of the “Teachers’ Exchange Programme” on the topic of “Content and Language Integrated Learning” took place. Teachers from Finland and Greece gathered as part of an Erasmus+ project with a delegation from the Bilingual Junior High School in Wiener Neustadt to create teaching materials, exchange experiences and provide suggestions for effective bilingual instruction. Naturally, there was also the opportunity to visit cities and landmarks in the eastern part of Austria. The international guests were particularly impressed by the history and culture of the host city, Wiener Neustadt, and by the warm reception from the Council Member for Education, Mag. Philipp Gruber at the old town hall. Adam Shepherd, Erasmus+ project leader, underlined the successful collaboration:
“In a time when international cooperation is becoming increasingly important in all areas, I am extremely pleased that the European spirit of working together and across borders on the challenges of the 21st century is being lived in the field of education through Erasmus+ projects such as this one.”
Zwischen Sonntag, 07.04.2024 und Freitag, 12.04.2024 fand der dritte Teil des „Teachers‘ Exchange Programme“ zum Thema „Content and Language Integrated Learning“ statt. Lehrer*innen aus Finnland und Griechenland trafen sich im Rahmen eines Erasmus+ Projektes mit einer Delegation der Bilingual Junior High School in Wiener Neustadt, um Unterrichtsmaterialien zu erstellen, Erfahrungen auszutauschen und Anregungen zu ertragreichem bilingualem Unterricht zu geben. Natürlich gab es auch die Möglichkeit, Städte und Sehenswürdigkeiten des Ostens von Österreich zu besuchen. Die internationalen Gäste waren insbesondere von Geschichte und der Kultur der Gastgeberstadt Wiener Neustadt und vom netten Empfang des Schulstadtrates Mag. Philipp Gruber im alten Rathaus begeistert. Adam Shepherd, Projektleiter Erasmus+, betont die gelungene Zusammenarbeit:
“In einer Zeit, in der die internationale Zusammenarbeit in allen Bereichen immer wichtiger wird, bin ich überaus glücklich, dass der Europäische Geist, miteinander und grenzübergreifend an den Herausforderungen der 21. Jahrhunderts zu arbeiten, im Bereich der Pädagogik durch diverse Erasmus+ Projekte gelebt wird.“
