4def at the La Gacilly Festival in Baden

On Friday 20th September the fourth-year classes met at the station and took the train to Baden to visit the La Gacilly Photography Festival. This outdoor exhibition shows the work of some of the world’s most famous photographers and as part of their art education the pupils were given tasks to complete while viewing the photographs. Many of the images are very critical of the way western society continues to exploit and destroy other cultures and one of the aims of the excursion was to encourage the pupils to appreciate not just the basic photograph in front of them, but also the message behind it.
