digiMEDIA Team – Erasmus+ Visit from Spain

During the week from 19th – 25th January, the digiMEDIA Team hosted our counterparts from Spain as part of our Erasmus+ Project. The Spanish team, from Valencia, were here to get to know Austria and worked with our pupils to create short videos about their experiences. To keep costs down, all the visiting pupils were hosted by families from our school (even some families whose children are not involved in the digiMEDIA Team – many thanks to them especially. When we visit the Spanish in April, we will also be hosted by them.
The first three days were mostly spent outdoors, with Monday seeing us in Wiener Neustadt, where we were officially welcomed at the Town Hall, Tuesday in Vienna and Wednesday in Mödling. Unfortunately the weather was very cold, but perhaps this is to be expected in an Austrian winter…
The pupils were given the task to film what was going on and also to interview a member of the opposite team, so that they would have material to cut and edit in school on Thursday and Friday. This worked very well and everyone enjoyed themselves very much, despite the constant threat of frostbite!
We are greatly looking forward to our trip to Valencia in April, where we will also be working with the third partner country for this project, the Netherlands.
Many thanks to the Spanish teachers who accompanied the pupils and have proven to be so easy to work with, ans also to Mr Shepherd for organising everything.
